 Movie Discussion
« Thread Started on Apr 9, 2004, 9:53am »

Ok I have many things to say about this movie, having only seen it for the first time yesterday afternoon, the premiere of it at my cinemas.

I swear I am still reeling after seeing it and am on a huge Johnny high...(again)

1. There was one part in the movie where I noticed Mort did a Jack Sparrow kind of run/hop thing to answer the phone. Maybe I was dreaming but I think not. I'm pretty sure it was near the end of the film.

2. That scene where Amy came into the house looking for Mort and he pushed back the door slowly and there Mort/Shooter was looking absolultley FANTASTIC!!! I couldn't get over how damn hot he looked. I mean he always looks hot, but to me he seems to look even hotter when he is EVIL.
At that particular point in the movie, my four friends who were with me had to tell me to shutup because it was SUPPOSED to be the 'scary' part but I yelled out quite loudly "OH MY GOD! HOW HOT IS THAT!! There was about 10 other people in the cinema at the time and they all looked over at me. Whoops...my bad...lol

3. When Johnny was talking to himself, my friend so boldy pointed out that there was now TWO Johnny's and we didnt have to share anymore...lol. Im obsessed.

4. What was with that song right at the end of the credits? Was it just to enforec the idea that Mort had gone insane? I found it hillarious. I had actually made my friends stay until the end of the movie just to see it because I was told over at another message board to keep an eye out for it. One of my friends was like "THAT? THat was it..." then they started cracking up laughing.

5. After the screening we were walking down the street, and my friends who are quite random, kept on yelling out "CORN!!!" It was great fun, im telling you now.

6. With the braces at the end, I thought the reason why he had them was because when Amy hit (or was it kicked? I can't remember) Mort and his teeth were all bloody, (which I also think contributed to the im-an-insane-physco-writer look.)

7. I found it funny that Mort had specifically pointed out the words "Shoot Her" in a kind of obvious way, yet the fact that he killed her with a shovel and did NOT shoot her, makes it all the more funnier.

8.Oh yeh, my uncle works for Columbia Tristar and he said when the movie comes out on DVD he will be able to get me a HUGE BIG poster of Johnny from the sale and most likely be able to get me a DVD of it. LOL, I love my uncle...

And finally........I WANT TO SEE IT AGAIN!!!

Your uncle is awesome!

I love this movie. I only got to see it once in the theater, because I am no longer employed, but when it comes to the dollar theater I might be able to see it again, because the insurance company just gave me a "pain and suffering" check for an injury I got when my friend hit another car head on last summer. Yay for making a living off of head injuries!

Seriously though, I love horror/suspense movies, so this just blew me away.

This is a great movie. Funny, suspenseful, scary at some points, just amazing. I honestly had no idea how it was going to end, so screw the critics who said it was "predictable." Stupid critics.
Heh, the first time I went to see it, there was a HUUUUUGE poster of it on one of the walls. It took up the entire wall. It was crazy. So I turned to my friend and I was like "Do you think they'd notice if that was missing? You could distract them, and I could take it down and fold it up reeeeeeally small, and shove it in my coat pocket." Lol she said that it probably wouldnt work, and that I'd need a ladder to get it down. Oh well.
I absolutly loved the ending, and the entire movie for that matter.
I almost cried when Mort found Chico. I was like "NOOOOOOOOO!!!" That part sucked.
Right now I'm in the middle of reading the book, I had to read Great Expectations for English class, so I was a bit distracted. Now that I think of it... It's probably a little overdue at the library... Thats not good.

I know! I was so sad when Mort found Chico. I cared more about poor Chico than any of the other deaths. Poor Chico... Also, I absolutely loved the movie too, but horror is my favorite genre and Johnny Depp is obviously my favorite actor, so I may have been a bit biased.

Last night we watched " Secret Window "

Secret Window was great with a excellent performance by Johnny playing Mort Rainey.

Stephen King who wrote the story always knows how to get into somebody's head and watch them spiral out of control into madness like he did with the Jack Nicholson's character in "The Shining"
